Ricki Mercier
Ricki was born, raised, and continues to reside in beautiful Edmonton, Alberta. She is surrounded by a wonderful support system that includes her family, friends, and fiancée, Sean.
She graduated in 2006 from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology with a certificate in Graphic Communications. She currently works as a production planner and mailing coordinator for McCallum Printing Group.
Ricki has been on the board of directors of the MMF since its inception in 2004. She enjoys working closely with her father, Mark, and the other members of the board, helping to make a difference for this worthy cause.
Salvatore N. Corea , BA, CFP, CIMA
Salvatore Corea is a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Investment Management Analyst, and Trust and Estate Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Sal obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Alberta, majoring in Economics. His practical experience includes working with business owners, professionals, and executives in the development of insurance and investment portfolios, as well as financial and estate plans. Sal is a member of Advocis, Conference of Advanced Life Underwriters (CALU), Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), and Alberta Business Family Institute (ABFI).
Guy Gibbs
As the son of an NHL pro, Guy Gibbs spent the first years of his life traveling North America with his family. Seasons spent in Minnesota, Atlanta, St. Louis, and Los Angeles were followed by homes in Lloydminster and Fort McMurray. Guy moved on to attend the University of Waterloo, obtaining a Bachelor of Mathematics in Operations Research in 1993. After graduation, he worked for three years at the Mutual Group as a computer programmer. Guy then returned to Alberta to rejoin his family. He settled in Edmonton as VP of Operations at the family business, Barry Gibbs Sales. In addition to his career, Guy has also become very active in his community, supporting many charitable organizations.
Guy met Mark, a fellow golf enthusiast, at the Windermere Golf and Country Club in 1998; the two became fast friends. This friendship inspired Guy to become one of the four founding members of the Mark Mercier Foundation. It also fostered Guy's commitment to furthering the Foundation's goal of education, research, and life-improvement for people with neurological disorders.
Gregg Gaylard
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Gregg chose to make Edmonton home. He remained in Alberta for over 30 years, creating a beautiful family with his wife, Deborah, and identical twin daughters, Natalie and Julia. In 2008, the entire family moved to their current home of Wake Forest, North Carolina. The girls are now proud Ohio State Buckeyes, teammates on the school's synchronized swim team, and members of the Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Gregg is currently president of Urecon, a medium sized manufacturing firm that supplies factory insulated piping systems to the Americas. He is also president of the Wakefield Estates Home Owners Association.
Gregg has both sponsored and volunteered at past MMF fundraising functions, and was invited to join the Board of Directors in 2007. He looks forward to continuing to contribute in any way possible on behalf of this very worthwhile cause.
Paul Gour
Paul Gour grew up on a farm in northern Alberta and graduated from GP Vanier High School. He then went on to obtain an MBA from the University of Alberta. Paul has over 30 years experience in the heavy equipment, parts, and service industry. Prior to joining NPC Integrity Energy Services and Titan Supply as President, CEO, he held senior roles in sales, customer service, and asset management with Finning (Canada).
Married for over 25 years to his lovely wife, Lise, Paul is blessed with two beautiful daughters, Natalie and Sylvie. After relocating to seven different communities throughout his career, Paul and family now reside in Edmonton, Alberta. Paul has been active in many community and charitable organizations, as well as having volunteered his services as parish council member with the Catholic Church.
Philanthropy is important to Paul; over the past few years he has enjoyed supporting the Mark Mercier Foundation. As an acknowledgement of his effort and commitment, Paul was invited to join the Board of Directors in 2009. He welcomes the opportunity to support the foundation, board members, Mark, and his family as they improve the quality of life for people living with neurological disorders through education, research, and community support.
